REACH REGULATIONS REGARDING DIISOCYANATES

Uzin Utz UK Ltd has informed us that according to REACH (European Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) from 24th August 2023, the regulations regarding products containing diisocyanates will change.

In that sense, all flooring professionals interacting directly with products containing diisocyanates must be trained in the risk of use and handling. Otherwise, the use is restricted. Professionals must complete the module ‘flooring adhesives and coatings - 049 (includes 048)’.  Diisocyanates are found in PU products such as adhesives and damp-proof membranes. The following UZIN products contain diisocyanates:

• UZIN PE 404 Moisture Suppressant
• UZIN KR 430 PU Adhesive
• UZIN KR 516 Crack Repair
• UZIN RK 37 Wood Injection Adhesive
